The City of Hutto is revamping its development regulations to align with the recently adopted Hutto SOAR 2040 Plan. In July 2023, the City Council approved a contract with Freese & Nichols, Inc. to spearhead this effort. The consultant has been collaborating closely with city staff and the Planning and Zoning Commission to draft a new Unified Development Code (UDC) and create an Engineering Design Manual (EDM).

By rewriting the UDC and establishing an EDM, Hutto seeks to create a cohesive regulatory framework that brings the community's vision, as outlined in the SOAR 2040 Plan, to fruition. This undertaking underscores the city's commitment to sustainable growth and development aligning with contemporary standards.
